Alcohol, Drugs, and Part 107

For alcohol and drug fitness, § 107.27 makes the remote PIC, person manipulating the controls, and visual observer subject to § 91.17. Its prohibitions are independent: no alcohol within 8 hours, no operation while under the influence, no drug use that affects faculties contrary to safety, and no alcohol concentration of 0.04 or greater in blood or breath.

8-hour rule is a floor, not a ceiling

Even if 8 hours have passed, if you still feel any effect from alcohol — you are not legal to fly. 'Hung over' is impaired.
